Fusing is fun but to create thicker, more interesting vessels you will want to venture into kiln forming. 

Here, you will learn to cast glass using molds that allow you to set the thickn ess and colour flow of your choosing. 

Then, in sessions 2 and 3 you will discover the power of cold working. For, unlike fused work that usually requires limited cold working (grinding, carving or polishing) kiln forming very much does. 

Cold working allows you to determine the final shape, surface and finish of your piece. It can take a bit of work, but its worth the time! 

This 3-evening workshop teaches you how to: 

• Weigh and cut glass to build your design 

• Set up a mold for kiln casting 

• Grind and shape your bowl blank 

• Slump the bowl  

• Sandblast design and finishing details 

This class accommodates up to 5 students only. Your bowl will be ready to take home at the end of the third session.
