This intensive workshop introduces you to the exciting and rewarding world of mouldmaking and glass casting. 

This two-day class will familiarise you with the different materials and processes used in casting and how and when to use them. We will also discuss what is involved in more complex casting methods as well as provide and introduction into setting custom firing schedules for different firing projects. 

You will: 

• Learn to make a clay model for open face casting (no undercuts) 

• Mix and make casting materials 

• Build your own molds 

• Divest the model and prepare the mold for firing 

• Gain an introduction into kiln scheduling 

• Learn about methods required for more complex sculpture molding and casting 

Please wear work clothes and closed toe shoes. We provide dust masks, however bring your own if you'd like. 

Clay, casting glass, refractories and necessary tools are provided. Bring your own lunch.
